Better Late Than Never
May 6, 2010
Last week I started running again, training for a race in July. I could have started writing about it then, but life/work is just a little bit overwhelming right now, and I just got started writing today. Not the end of the world, of course.
Why am I running? To get fit and lose some weight. I’m also running for the discipline aspect of it. I feel great after I complete a run. It’s a kind of satisfaction I get nowhere else.
Last week was a great running week for me, though hard. I ran 2 miles on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, then 3 on Saturday. That 3 miles was hard. But I did it. I’ll be able to do it again, too, and more. I believe in myself!
This week I ran 2 miles on Monday, 3 on Tuesday, and 2 today. This morning’s run was hard because I ate a big Italian dinner last night in celebration of my anniversary with my guy. When I started out this morning, it felt like I was running with 25# of bricks. By the end of the first mile I felt better. That’s always the way.
Next run: Saturday, 3 miles.
Onward!
